The Inauguration + Crazy Times Scrapbook, Jan. 2025

It is indeed crazy that Trump won the presidency so handily after everything that's happened over the last few years and then last summer with a very near assassination. For me, as a supporter, it's crazy in a good way, but I realize that many don't feel that way, and I respect that. But needless to say, I felt happy and hopeful on Inauguration Day. I hope he does right by America and puts this country and the world on a better path while he's in a position to do so.

Adios, Bidens! Thank goodness.

The Oath of Office was too hastily done by Chief Justice Roberts. I don't know why he rushed it like he did. The Trump family wasn't even all up on the podium yet when it started, and Trump wasn't able to put his hand on the Bible that Melania was holding (which stirred things up for some detractors, as it would do for me if I didn't like him). But nonetheless, it happened and he's now President Trump again!
I thought Melania's hat was a little weird.

And in other "crazy times" news...

The fires in California were horrifying.

Get rid of TikTok! I don't like that Trump has changed his mind about this, but at least he wants it to change ownership and be out of China's hands.

I like this much more than "Believe women": "Hear women—and then verify." It's much more fair and just.

This ironically happened the day before I flew to Guatemala.

The two plane crashes that happened within days of each other were tragic and scary. Especially for me personally because they happened while I was in Guatemala, and I had two flights waiting to be taken at the end of my trip.

I thought this was very well written.
