Thanksgiving 2024

First, some Thanksgiving/fall/harvest decorations around the house. I took down all of the Halloween decorations the day after Halloween and put out the Thanksgiving things.

I like this sill between the kitchen and dining room. It holds so much!

This banner used to hang over my fireplace(s) from the mantel. Now my banners hang from the sill instead. I think it fills the space nicely!

I used this fall leaves tablecloth for the first time in a while, and it fit the table perfectly and looked nice.
Good work, tablecloth. ๐Ÿ˜„

Crafts the boys made when they were little will always be among my favorite holiday decorations. ๐Ÿงก

My fall potpourri owl

Can you spot my "corndles"? I think I got them at Plimoth Plantation years ago.

I've had most of my holiday decorations for many years. When things are stored properly and taken good care of, they'll last for a long time (unless they're cheap, and sometimes even then!). I rarely buy holiday decorations anymore because I'm pretty much all set with them for life, especially with going from big houses to a smaller townhouse.

Thanksgiving Day itself was a very rainy day in Massachusetts. I was thankful for it (๐Ÿ˜‰) because we needed the rain. And I like rainy days; I find them wonderfully atmospheric (no pun intended). I went to my mom's house and enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner with my family.

I brought the rolls, the sparkling cider, and this cute Edible Arrangements bouquet of baby turkey chocolate-covered strawberries.

Everything was truly delicious. For good reason, this is one of my favorite meals of the whole year!

That evening I relaxed at home and had this festive Turkey Day scene streaming on the TV from YouTube in the background. It was a good way to wind down a good day.

Sam and I celebrated Thanksgiving together a couple of weeks earlier at Plimoth Patuxet with their renowned and delicious Harvest Feast. I'll be posting about that tomorrow. Get hungry for it! ๐Ÿ˜„
