Well, it was an exciting night if you were a Trump supporter, anyway. I was pretty sure that he'd win, but I felt the same way in 2020, and we all know what happened with that (well, some of us do, anyway ๐). As for Election Night 2024, it was a good night, and the results of it brought me a sense of increased hope for our country and our world. It's funny because many of the women I work with and other friends and family believe the exact opposite, and very much so. I think few people have been more polarizing in modern history than Donald Trump. There are many reasons for this, but I won't go into that right now. Instead, enjoy my Election Night 2024 coverage! ๐
Fortunately, this turned out to be a non-issue because his victory was so decisive with soundly winning both the electoral college and the popular vote.
I posted this as a Facebook Story because I thought it was silly and funny. It got a lot of views but not a lot of likes. ๐
The swing states were what was making everyone nervous. North Carolina started it off and went to Trump.
I did.
*Soapbox moment ahead*
Babies in the womb don't have a choice, and the women who carry them shouldn't be allowed to have the choice to end their lives. Even though one is dependent on the other, they are two separate and distinct beings who have each been given the gift of life. The Constitution has never allowed for the right to take the life of babies in the womb. Roe v. Wade should never have happened, and it's a travesty that it did. I'm ashamed of the Democrats for promoting abortion so blatantly in this election. They deserved to lose as badly as they did for that reason alone. I've said it before and I'll say it again: America will face major consequences for what it's done with the horrible practice of abortion over the last several decades.
Okay, I got sidetracked. Back to Election Night coverage! Trump won Georgia and the Republicans won the Senate.
It was looking very promising for Trump at 1:11 a.m.
Not this time!
This is me, ha ha
And then he won Pennsylvania, the biggest prize of the night, and the place where he almost lost his life in July. He deserved to win it after that.
...And, he won! ๐
I couldn't get to sleep and I broke my cardinal rule of not bringing my phone into my bedroom at night and I watched Trump's speech live at like 2:30 in the morning. I literally got about two hours of sleep that night.
It was "officially official" at about 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday. I reveled in the afterglow of victory in my car on my two hours of sleep while Sam was in seminary.

Melania seems a lot happier this go-around. I'm so glad.
This is one of the reasons why many people believe the vote was or may have been manipulated in 2020.
Biden may have wanted Trump to win. There seems to be no love lost between the Bidens and Kamala.
Very few voting shenanigans happened this time. It was watched like a hawk after 2020.
And that concludes my Election Night 2024 coverage. I hope you enjoyed it, but I won't take it personally if you didn't. ๐
