John's Mission Pictures from October 2024

John's been on his mission for close to three months now, with almost exactly two months in Colorado. I'm happy to report that he's doing really well. Yesterday I read his weekly email and FaceTimed with him for an hour. I'm so glad we get to have those weekly calls! He misses Fortnite and his friends (and maybe his family a little bit 😆), but he's loving being on a mission. I'm already seeing so much growth and maturing in him,and he still has 21 months left! I'm so proud of him. This is one of my most meaningful accomplishments as a mother so far. He's doing the best work he could be doing at this time in his life as he shares the absolute truth of the Lord's gospel. 🤍

Here are some of the pictures he sent in October (or screenshots of his Facebook Stories).

Grand Junction's new temple is scheduled to be dedicated next spring.

A cute dog who belongs to one of the members in the ward John is serving in.

He used the picture of Penny for a Facebook Story. Cute!

Be "rateful"! 😆

John likes Colorado a lot. He said he'd like to live there someday. (I knew it!)

John and his companion (who is his trainer) get along well enough, but they're pretty different and they aren't BFFs or anything. It sounds like they drive each other nuts sometimes 😂. (I get it--John drove me nuts, too!) But John said it's all good and his companion has taught him a lot of good things about being a good and effective missionary.

Cars!

He's in western Colorado, where it's more desert-like.

Halloween fun on P-Day last week.

John's Facebook Stories make me happy. I'm sure I miss some because I'm not on social media for half the month. I make sure to snap a screenshot whenever I see them. And of course I "love" them all and leave comments and messages for him.

Keep up the good work, Elder Carlson!
