The Cliff Walk

I'd been wanting to do Newport's Cliff Walk for literally about two decades after I first went to Newport, but it had never quite worked out to do it, until, finally, Nate and Kat's wedding weekend. Sam, my mom, Jennifer, and I did it together the morning after the wedding before heading home. It was lovely and lived up to the hype, with the ocean and rugged shoreline on one side and the mansions and pretty houses on the other. We only did about half of the route (not even) because Sam's knee was hurting, but that's okay. I would have liked to have done the whole thing or at least more of it, but that will have to be a pleasure reserved for another day. In the near future. Not in two more decades!

Behold the beauty that is wild and natural on one side and refined and elegant on the other...

The bright pink wild rose is such a pretty contrast with the greens and blues around it.

The cliffs and outcroppings reminded me of petrified wood...

There's Sam and I! I wish I'd been standing up taller. I look like a hunched-up woman! 😆

I love this young man of mine, and the views all around us were lovely.

I highly recommend doing the Cliff Walk when you're in Newport! I'm glad I (finally!) did, and I look forward to doing it again.
