Last month I went to the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill with my mom and my sister Jennifer for a special outing on Jen's birthday. π It's only about 40 minutes from where I live, but I'd never been before. And now that I've been, I know that I'll go back! It's a beautiful place with great walking trails through beautiful woods, flowers, and scenery.
Before we explored the grounds, we took a selfie in front of this cool wall of plants!
The plants are all in individual pots that are mounted to the shelves behind them. So cool!
Nearby was the biggest agave plant I've ever seen.
Then we went for a walk through the woods, which is one of my favorite things to do. Especially when they're woods as lovely as these, with some unique treasures to find throughout.
On the way to the woods...
Magical!
It's Pan!
There was a rustic gazebo overlooking a small lake.
We found a Greek temple!
And other Greek(ish) things...
Corinthian columns? This brought me back to my high school art history class.
I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again: I love the old stone walls of New England.
We made it to the summit! Such a pretty view. π
Do you see the butterfly? (Hint: look to the right.)
It was ready for its close-up. π
I don't buy things in gift shops very much anymore (shocking, I know), but I couldn't resist the delectable scent of this luxurious bar of soap. I like nice soaps, and I'm using this one now. It creates a fragrant lather and makes my skin smell so nice. It was worth it!
I also got this jar of salsa, because I like a good salsa, dip, or guacamole.
It was a beautiful day in a beautiful place with two of my favorite women!
