On the first full day of the cruise, we went to CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas. I hadn't been there before, and it was really nice and didn't disappoint!
This was the view from our balcony that morning of part of the island and the walking pier. It's not a big island, hence the "cay."
The requisite balcony shots! I asked Sam to take them.
And the requisite selfie π
I guess I was feelin' it that morning!
The boys went to the waterpark for a couple of hours while my mom and I relaxed on the beach. The slide behind them is the tallest waterslide in North America!
Fortunately, ours was the only ship in port that day, so the island wasn't that crowded at all.
I liked the bright and pretty hibiscus flowers. π
We chilled on Chill Beach!
It was breezy that day, especially over by the beach, and the water wasn't that warm, so I didn't go in past my knees.
This selfie of me and Sam tugs at my mommy heartstrings for some reason!
A cute little library!
Of course, I had to take a picture with it.
We hung out on some relaxing hammocks for a little while before going to eat lunch.
Flowers and palm trees and blue sky, a wonderful combination!
Sam and I were sharing a hammock.
Tropical flowers are so bright and fun and happy.
After spending the morning and early afternoon on the island, we returned to the ship. There were still a lot of people on the island so the ship wasn't crowded, which was nice. My mom, John, and I relaxed in the Solarium for awhile. Sam was happy to do his own thing elsewhere.
We were able to get comfortable padded lounge chairs with great views, which are normally hard to get.
....aaaaand, he's asleep! π
I like this picture because you can see John conked out through the glass behind me. π
This balcony off the Solarium is only open when the ship is in port. You can't go out there when it's sailing. Look at how pretty this is! The water looks like a soft blanket.
John slept for a while. π΄
A few more views of CocoCay from our room's balcony. The water was so pretty!
The dress code (which is always optional) for dinner that night was white night. This isn't a flattering picture of me, but oh well, you can't win them all. π
We got Shirley Temples at dinner.
Sam and my mom and I played ping-pong up on the sports deck after dinner, and it was fun!
Then from there, we went down the Ultimate Abyss slide. Here's my mom landing at the bottom of it.
That's the slide! There are two of them, actually (stating the obvious, I know). It's so fun!
The slide's on the left, and Sam's on the right, climbing the rock wall.
He made it to the top!
This cute towel elephant was left on the bed by our room attendant.
There was a cool steampunk piano player tickling the ivories in one of the elevators, and we were lucky enough to be in that elevator!
A delicious evening snack from Windjammer.
The first full day of the cruise was awesome! In retrospect, it was one of my favorite days. And there were still five more days to go!
