I spent a couple of days at the Cape last month doing exciting things like getting the furnace inspected and the gutters replaced, and then actually exciting things like exploring a new(ish)-to-me walking trail in the woods. I enjoyed a peaceful but invigorating walk there on a mild fall day and found some cool things during it, like this staircase built into a hillside...
...and a little fairy garden...
...and abandoned train tracks...
...and a Jewish cemetery that bordered the woods (which felt especially poignant in the wake of 10/7)...
...and this nice little sitting area. How perfect is this for a pow-wow with family and friends?
And of course there was the pretty scenery of the path and the woods themselves.
I was feeling pretty proud of myself for navigating my way all around the lake and trail on my own. The prepper in me has a longtime desire to be a modern-day Sacagawea with excellent natural navigation skills. 😄 But then I got humbled near the end of my trek because I took a wrong turn somewhere and got a little lost. It took me around 20-30 extra minutes to find my starting point. So I'm more like a Sacagawea-in-progress. 😆
A pretty sight on the way back to civilization (a.k.a., my car).
I love my walks and adventures in the woods!
