On a Friday afternoon in December I met Meredith at The Wayside Inn for lunch. (Because even in this crazy Covid era, we are still ladies who lunch. π) I was early so I stopped first at the Grist Mill. I wanted to take a walk around it but the grounds were closed, so I took a few pictures from the parking lot instead. I liked how the ray of light was shining down on the scene. It was symbolic to me because this is one of my favorite spots ever, full of happy memories from my childhood on.
I still had some extra time since I couldn't go for the walk and so I did a little shopping in the holiday barn across the street from the Inn. I'm so glad that I did! They had some really cute things, including lots of owls!
I got one each of these little cuties and they were so pretty on my tree.
The Inn was festively attired. I love it here so much!
The front door. That wreath! π
We ate in a cozy little room that I'd never eaten in before because it's usually only used for special parties and events. We were seated in the corner right by the Christmas tree. The history of this special place was practically oozing from the old walls and ceiling and floorboards. I loved it.
I treated myself to prime rib and it was delicious. It was so good to get out with a good friend to one of my favorite places. Merry Christmas to us!
