The Fourth of July 2019 (and the Fifth too!)

We spent the Fourth of July on the Cape, which is my favorite place to be for the Fourth. In 2018 we didn't get to be there because of our move, so it was especially nice to be there last summer.

It was a perfect beach day and Seagull Beach was the most crowded I've ever seen it. We got there early enough that we were able to get a pretty good spot on the beach (not to mention a parking spot!).

We had a barbecue dinner, and then went up the street for ice cream.
That umbrella's days were numbered, as you can see. It was completely destroyed in a freak tornado a few weeks later. I had bought a replacement before the tornado but fortunately I hadn't put it up yet or the brand new one would have been destroyed instead of the old, broken one. Sometimes procrastination pays off!

After dinner and ice cream, we walked the other way down the street to the beach, where we had a perfect view of the fireworks to come.

It was a lovely evening!

The fireworks were lovely too. I love that we celebrate the birth of our great country with fireworks and patriotic music, with beaches and swimming and barbecues and ice cream. I love being an American! (Sorry if that's corny to say, but it's true!)

It was a fun Fourth of July! The next day, the oft-forgotten Fifth of July, was fun too.

My sister led me, my mom, and my niece in yoga on the beach in the morning. It was so relaxing and it was a great way to start the day.

We all went out for an early dinner at The Brazilian Grill.
I love their lemonade. And their delicious food too, of course!

Sam had made his own Infinity Gauntlet out of a yellow cleaning glove. I love his creativity!

Summer was off to a good start!
