Last year Sam had his very first birthday party with friends. It was for his eighth birthday. He wanted to have it at the Iowa City Gym-nest, where John had had a few parties in the past. Most of Sam's friends were able to come, and they all had a great time together.

Sam wanted a silly SpongeBob SquarePants cake. I thought it was pretty cute actually, and it tasted delicious. 😋
I miss these kids, and would have loved to watch Sam grow up with them. Sam misses them more.
(Some consolation--two of them also moved away last summer.)
