In my last post there were pictures of the calm version of the beach near our Cape house. The photos in this post are from an evening when the waves were bigger, the tide was higher, and the wind was stronger. It was bracing and refreshing! The calm sea and the rowdy sea both have their own unique benefits.
John's favorite thing to do with bigger waves is to jump over them.
Perhaps he will be a future hurdler on the track team?
Preparing to jump over that incoming swell...
Boys of the beach...
And the daring continued as Sam attempted to stand up on the rock...
That's as far as he got. Go Sam!
John then showed Sam how it's done.
Using the rock as a diving board (no real diving occurs--it's too shallow!).
I can't decide which of these two pictures of the boys climbing on the rocks I like better, so I'll just include them both...
(That's my Dad.)
And then it was time to go home and get ready for bed.
I am convinced from my life experience that there are few better ways to wind up the day than at the beach!
