It's windy and chilly out today, but overall we've been enjoying a very pleasant spring this year. It's been one of the best we've had in our now five springs in Iowa.
These are pictures from around the yard from the past few weeks. Such a lovely time of year it is!
I posted pictures of this pretty tree in the front yard when it bloomed in April, but it's so pretty that I have to post a few more. I didn't remember then the name of this type of flower, but I have since learned that these are magnolias.
It's a fleeting beauty, only in bloom for about two weeks out of the whole year.
There are two of these trees in the yard.
They're so gorgeous and vibrant when they're in bloom.
The white lilac bush is so fragrant!
I spotted a little bird's nest in the branches of one of the magnolia trees (post-bloom).
I was driving down our road one evening and had to pull over to take a few pictures of these pretty trees in bloom by the side of the road. They looked all lit up in the evening sunshine.
