Not to be cliche or anything, but April showers...
...did indeed bring May flowers.
In and around the yard in the lovely bloom-filled month of May...
White lilacs...
...and some lacy lavender ones too.
And a few other floral things of note.
Cheery pots of bright daisies on the kitchen windowsill were an instant mood improver.

There was a vase of white daisies on the sill and one of them leaned down and looked like it was conversing with an upturned green leaf of my 13-year-old houseplant. I thought it was funny and imagined that they were cross-species plant friends.
In the interest of full disclosure, all of the above pictures are from May of last year. There's been a file folder on our computer of May 2013 pictures that I never got around to blogging about, so I'm taking the opportunity to use them now, especially since the blooms were a bit of a dud this year, what with our long super-cold winter and spring and all. Just another good reason to be an enthusiastic amateur photographer--you never know when your random pictures will come in handy!
