Dune Walk

My favorite thing that we did on Prince Edward Island this summer was probably a sunset walk along the dunes one evening that Peter and I took. First we had a delicious dinner at a nice restaurant that we also ate at on our honeymoon. They had a really good seafood chowder, and the chef came out and talked to us and I was glad that I got to compliment him on that chowder. After that we were going to stop at a store and then go home, but Peter had the better idea of taking me for a walk on the dunes overlooking the ocean. I'm so glad I listened to him this time! Sometimes he really is right! The view was amazing, the sand was so soft, and I felt like the king of the world! Okay, the queen of the world--I'll settle for that!

The red cliffs were a blazing golden red at that time of the evening with the sun's light shining directly on them. It was gorgeous!

The dune walk's pathway is there on the left. I was glad we did this without the kids!

This was the view on the non-ocean side of the dunes. The beauty of the earth was all around.

When we got to the end of the dunes we hightailed it back to our starting point by way of this pretty path so that we could go walk out onto the rocks and get some nice shots of the sunset over the ocean.

But a big dramatic sunset was not to be that evening. The sun sank quickly from view and some clouds rolled in. It was still beautiful though.

I liked the moodiness of the clouds.

It was a beautiful, fantastic experience that I will never forget and one that I hope to experience again someday!
