I've seen other people do these "Friday Fragments" for awhile and I think they're fun to read, so I'm trying it out for the first time today. Those random little things from the week that don't make the cut to get their own blog post get to see the light of day here. Lucky them!
*I've never really had a problem with allergies of any kind until this past week when out of nowhere I got hammered by them. Something's in the air in this part of the country that my body is not taking a liking to. Thankfully it's starting to get better after a week of sneezing, dry eyes, a sore nose and throat, and generally feeling like crap.
*Today a few miles from my house a whole lot of people are going to attempt to break the Guiness world record for the most people doing the Hokey-Pokey at the same time. It may be a little hokey (ha ha), but I think it's cute and I hope they succeed!
*There's this lamppost in our front yard that hadn't worked since we'd moved in a month ago, so I thought it just needed a new bulb. Well, somehow the light turned on this week, and it hasn't turned off since. We can't find a switch for it anywhere and I can't figure out how it got turned on in the first place. So this lamppost has been lit up for the past two days and nights! We're going to call the previous owners and get to the bottom of this little mystery.
*And on the opposite side...a few days ago I set my netbook up for the first time since moving here. It was working fine for a few hours, and then suddenly it shut down. And it hasn't turned back on since. What the heck?
*After school yesterday John and I made homemade play-dough, and for the first time ever, it actually worked! The recipe was super-easy and fun, and seriously, it's even better than the real stuff.
*In Connecticut we'd sometimes get mice in our garage. In Iowa we get toads. Mice paralyze me in my tracks; I'll take the toads.
(As you can see, I figured it out!)
So those are some of my fragments from the week. Check out Half Past Kissin' Time if you'd like to share your own.
Happy Friday!
